Do You Struggle With Packing Clothes?
- Are your clothes prone to wrinkles during transit?
- Do your clothes require a lot of space, forcing you take bigger suitcases?
- Do your clothes become loose and unfold themselves in your bag?
- Are you worried about not looking your best?
I Hear You
If this is you, don’t worry, because you are not alone. Taking wrinkly clothes out of your bag is always a disappointment. Instead of being excited to wear an outfit, wrinkles can make you self-conscious about it.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Everyone deserves to look their best while traveling.
There is a Better Way
Hi, my name is Luigi Rausch and when I travel I always roll my clothes for packing. Now, my clothes take up less space and are wrinkle-resistant. Ensuring that I have more than enough room in my bag for my gear and that I am always looking my best.
The Packing Clothes Plan
1
Save space and prevent wrinkles by rolling your clothes for your next trip
2
Create more room for the rest of your travel gear
3
Take out an outfit and look great
Don't Fold, Roll Your Clothes
Known by a few names such as Ranger Roll, the Military Roll, or the Burrito Roll, rolling your clothes is the best way you can pack to reduce wrinkles and maximize space.
More Space. Less Wrinkles.
Rolled items can be packed tightly into your bag or packing cube’s corners and sides. Plus, this method will drastically reduce wrinkles and prevent those hideous creases that can occur while traveling.
Let's Roll.
Now I am going to teach you step-by-step how to roll t-shirts, jeans, dresses, and more; however, ranger rolling works on almost any casual clothing. Click through the tabs below to get started!
How to Roll Clothes (Step-By-Step)
- Roll a T-Shirt
- Roll Pants
- Roll a Dress
- Roll Socks
- Roll Underwear
Lay shirt out on the ground with front-facing up
Invert and fold the bottom of your shirt 3-4 inches to make a cuff
Fold the right side one third inward and fold the sleeve backwards on itself
Fold the left side inward overtop the right side and fold the sleeve backwards on itself
Start rolling tightly from the top down
Continue rolling until you reach the end
Once you roll to the end, pull and fold the cuff from step 2 back overtop the roll
The cuff is used to keep the roll together and this completes the roll
Lay pants out on the ground with the zipper facing up
Zip-up zipper and button button
Invert and fold the top of your pants 3-4 inches to make a cuff
Fold the right side inward so it lines up where the zipper would be
Fold the left side inward so it lines up where the zipper would be, both folds should be touching
With pant legs, on top of each other, start tightly rolling from the bottom up
Continue rolling until you reach the end
Once you roll to the end, pull and fold the cuff from step 3 back overtop the roll
The cuff is used to keep the roll together and this completes the roll
Lay dress out on the ground with front-facing up
Fold the bottom of your dress about two-thirds dress length overtop and inward
Fold the new bottom of dress 4-5 inches underneath the dress
The fold should now be behind the dress
Fold the right side one third inward towards the center
Fold the left side inward overtop the right side
Start rolling tightly from the top down
Continue rolling until you reach the end
Once you roll to the end, pull the fold from step 3 back overtop the roll
The fold is used to keep the roll together and this completes the roll
Lay both socks out on the ground
Place one sock over top the other
Fold the top of the sock on top 2-3 inches underneath itself, sandwiching it between the two
The fold should now be behind the top sock and on top of the bottom sock
Start rolling tightly from the bottom up
Continue rolling until you reach the end
Insert fingers inside the cuff opening of the back sock and pullover top and around the roll
The cuff is used to keep the roll together and this completes the roll
Lay underwear out on the ground with front-facing up
Invert and fold the top of your underwear 2-3 inches to make a cuff
Fold the right side one third inward towards the center
Fold the left side inward overtop the right side
Start rolling tightly from the bottom up
Once you roll to the end, pull and fold the cuff from step 2 back overtop the roll
The cuff is used to keep the roll together and this completes the roll

Pack Wrinkle-Resistant Fabrics
If you’d like to prevent wrinkles even further, then merino wool clothing is for you. Because the elasticity of the wool fibers, they are naturally wrinkle-resistant. These fibers are coiled like little springs. This quite literally allows wool clothes to easily spring back to their original smooth shape after removing them from your bag.
